coshare | Hive – Sofia’s newest co-working space

I’m gonna start with a disclaimer: I’m most definitely biased here. I’ve been working оn creating coshare | HIVE for nearly four months now and can confidently say I believe in the idea and mission of this place. Our small team and the friends we made along the way have put in a lot of love, blood, sweat and tears. Metaphorically speaking. Well, maybe not the sweat, there was quite a bit of sweat.. Okay.. and I may have shed a literal tear or two here and there.
Anyway, enough about my unfit physique and unstable emotionality, I’m here to tell you about Sofia’s new coworking space set to be officially opening its doors this fall. coshare (кошер in Bulgarian, meaning bee hive) came into existence under the influence of western culture and the startup, freelance, entrepreneurial and digital nomad movement. We wanted to expand the already existing (and thriving) coworking community in Sofia and hopefully bring something new and exciting to the table. I’m also always looking for an excuse to grab a beer and have a party, so at coshare I can do just that and call it “work”. (Shh.. Don’t tell our investors I said that).
In our minds, coshare was never going to be just a shared office. The idea was to create an ecosystem that worked around and for the coworking space. Our event spaces (the ART coshare and Little Habana) will play a crucial role in our effort to attract ambitious, creative and open-minded people who aren’t afraid to try something new, challenge the norm and are brave (and a little crazy) enough to believe they can make a real difference. This feels like a fist bump moment. Our mission is to support those who find their way to us with our seed fund, peer-to-peer (and face-to-face) platform and regular networking events centered around bringing together the younger generation of startups and entrepreneurs with the older, more experienced generation of businessmen and women. We’ve called them the worker bees and hornets and the drones. See what we did there? I know, I know… Our zoomorphism game is strong. Yeah, that’s what it’s called, I Googled it.
We claim to be “buzzing with innovation” and we stand behind that statement 100%. We’ve invested in management software that will enable all visitors of coshare to enter the building, pay and book meeting rooms through our app and using QR codes. We’ve taken into account all active members of society who prefer to ride in style and use bikes for transport by installing shower cabins in our bigger bathrooms. (Soon you’ll be able to rent bikes from us too.)
Since this is an expat blog, please allow me to indulge in some (more) shameless self-promotion, and tell you that coshare is a great place for those who find themselves in Sofia for a short while or are testing the waters for a future move to Bulgaria. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say Sofia is well on its way to establishing itself as an IT (and startup in general) hub in Eastern Europe. There are a lot of perks to working here and the growing community of innovators, game changers and the awesome spaces that accommodate them is one of the big ones.
So if a sign is what you’re waiting for, then here it is: JOIN THE HIVE! We’ll be there for you for a day, a week, a month or even a year! Yes, that’s a FRIENDS reference… So sue me. Ok, don’t. I can’t actually afford it.
Join us every Wednesday from lunch till closing time for a tour of coshare. Hang around for a few hours, get a real feel for the space and the community, we’d love to have you! In the meantime, check out our Facebook and Instagram pages. Like and share with friends, aunts, uncles, third cousins and pets! What? Your teacup pig doesn’t have Instagram?! Does that even count as having a pet? Someone call PETA!
