On the 23rd October 2018, I had the great pleasure of attending the official opening of the InterContinental Hotel in Sofia.
The InterContinental Hotel is in the heart of Sofia, overlooking Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. A perfect, central location with all the city’s major attractions within walking distance. The hotel, which was previously operated as the Radisson Blu, has undergone major refurbishment, and is aiming to be the best luxury hotel in Sofia, and indeed, Bulgaria.
The hotel offers fine dining at the Floret Restaurant and Bar, meeting rooms, classic and executive bedrooms and an impressive Presidential Suite with private terrace which could double as a large, comfortable apartment!
The opening party was absolutely as impressive as you can imagine. The wine and champagne was flowing, the selection of food was outstanding, melt in your mouth roast beef, amazing seafood, salads, cheeses and much much more … and not to mention the sweets, all I can say about the sweet selection is, WOW! They really did taste as good as they looked!
I took a few photos to try and capture the atmosphere of the evening, but I’m sure they won’t completely do it justice, as they rarely do! So, if you’re planning a visit to this beautiful city, Sofia, I can assure you that the InterContinental will be a great place to stay, and if you’re already here, be sure to pop in and have dinner or a drink in the bar to check it out.
